Default High voltage on 84 75HP

I recently installed voltmeter on my boat and noticed that the charge circuit is putting out abour 16.5-17 volts. I recomfirmed with a hand held voltmeter and the voltage is high. Is there anything I need to check or should I go ahead and replace the rectifier? I do not see a voltage regulator on the parts diagram.

Has it given you any problems starting or does that battery show signs of over charging? Just a thought, if the battery is going bad some times they don't put enough resistance to the system.
