1970 18 hp lower end probelms or something eles

I was out on the lake today and i got to shallow and hit a rock and kicked the motor up but kept running and still in gear.. I shut if off and pulled it up to see the damge and took little chunk out of the prop. So i started it back up and put it into gear and went to go and had nothing, forward or reverse.. Also i noticed that there was no water coming out either. Now at home under further inspection, i put in to gear and turn the prop i can tell when its in gear, and if i shift to neuteral i can tell and also can hear something inside when i turn the prop.. so any idea what may be wrong? thanks

Sorry to hear the problems, If it was pumping water before that then you may have a drive shaft problem. All that you can do is pull the lower unit at this point and find the problems. Get a good manual and it's really not that hard to do, never hurts to put in a new impeller anyway. good luck
