fuel pump swap--70hp Evinrude

Hi , Have a 1985 70hp Evinrude (E70TLCOS) It came stock with the VRO pump. Pump is totally shot, (Cracked body), so I want to switch over to a regular 50/1 mix pump. Have done some looking and it looks like pump #0385784 will work but have gotten some mixed messages. Found this site while bumping around on the web. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

This is a controversial subject, however as long as everything is installed properly it should work.
