Hot Engine....Help!!

Took my 1997 Evinrude 25 HP, 2 stroke with auto-mix fuel system out today and after a half hour of running at slower speeds noticed that the engine was heating up quite rapidly. The water pump outlet stream was strong and cool to the touch. Engine was still very warm after an hour of being shut off. Where do I start? Thanks in advance.

If you are indeed over heating and there is a strong pee stream. Start with the Thermostats.
