Default Brake Cleaner

I want to spray in some carb cleaner to clean the idle orifices in my 3, 1975, 70hp Evinrude carburetors - without removing the carbs. (won't idle well and stops) It was suggested to me to use automotive brake cleaner as the strongest yet safe cleaner. Anybody have a reason why this should not be done ? Thanks

Default carbs

you should remove and clean very well most of the time you are wasting your time by just spray carb cleaner on them. You need to run some tag wire through them or something.

Spraying any kind of cleaner will not obtain the results you are looking for. To clean the idle circuits you must remove the carburetors. You can attempt to run cleaning in the fuel, however very seldom will this work.
