Default 1985 70hp e70tlcos

I just bought a pontoon which has this motor on it. 1985 70HP E70TLCOS. The guy i bought it from said that it needed to be cleaned up and the carbs were probably gunked up. Becuase it bogs down when in full throttle or even past half. So i tried it on the water and it did what he said. I took the carbs off cleaned them up. Still does the same thing. Has good strong spark. So then i did a compression test 100 100 0. So i take the head off and find that the outside of the piston and the head was chewed up. I found pieces of metal stuck in the head which was causing this to happen. The cylinder wall is suprisingly perfectly fine. I have a friend who said he could help me rebuild the one cylinder. Since i will have the whole powerhead off to rebuild the cylinder should i pay the extra money for 2 more pistons and rings?

Also does anyone know where to buy a new head. I cannot find one anywhere..

May be a confusing post. Let me know if you have any questions. Any help would be appreciated.

As long as you are not boring the cylinder, 2 new pistons are not necessary. You should replace the rings though. Unfortunately the head is no longer available.
