Default l987 Evidrude 110 HP 4 cyl

Model # E110TLCUR. Will not idle without spitting and sputtering. Will run ok at higher throttle setting. Noticed after running short while at fast idle (running rough, spitting) that 2 of the plugs were hot to the touch and the two lower were not. Carbs have been overhauled. I think it is a spark problem at lower RPM's.

Bad coils on those 2 cyls. or, what?

Thank you

Jim

You should start by checking the spark and compression.

Default correction

I need to correct myself. It is the upper and lower cyl. on the right side that the spark plugs were cool compared to those on left side. After looking at parts diagrams makes me think that the power pack for that side is bad. It runs good at higher RPM's, only when you fall below about 1200 to 1400 RPM does it begin to miss.

I will check compression.

Thanks for the reply.

Does it have spark at low rpm on that side?
