Default '99 15hp 4 Stroke: Gas in the crankcase?

Late last summer, my local mechanic made a diagnosis for our gasoline in the crankcase oil problem which made perfectly good sense. He replaced the fuel pump ***embly after months of waiting for the part.

Fortunately this motor is an auxiliary for the boat, a 23' Boston Whaler Conquest, so we ran all season without and just "non-op'd" the aux motor till she was repaired. I only started and ran the aux a couple-a-few times on the hose while in the driveway. It appears to be running just fine, just like it did when it was dumping fuel into the case before. Other than maybe the collective 10-15 minutes time, that's all the motor has seen since the new fuel pump was installed nearly a year ago.

Upon inspection and prep today, I checked the oil in the crankcase only to find it diluted with gas again. I haven't yet discussed the issue with my local mechanic but thought I'd research the possibilities before approaching him.

My first thought, just like last time, is if fuel was washing through the carb and into cylinders, wouldn't the motor run very poorly if at all? She may be a tiny bit rough at idle but at operating speeds under no load, she purrs and doesn't miss a beat.

What other possibilities should I consider looking at given the circumstances?

It is a fuel problem, could be at the fuel pump again or carburetors overflowing. Something you can try is draining the fuel system before letting it sit.
