Default 6 Hp evenrude shift rod o-ring leaking

Hi All, I have a 1968 6HP evenrude fisherman outbard and I believe I am getting water intrusion into the gear oil thru the shift rod o-ring and bushing.I pressure tested it and this is the only place that I get an air leak. Is there an easy way to remove the bushing and o-ring to replace? Thanks Dale

Don't have a manual on that model, The bushing either has a set screw holding in place or it is pressed in.

Default Shift rod seal

I recently replaced all the seals on a 1969 33 HP Johnson. The dealer where I purchased the seals had a special tool to replace the shift rod seal. I brought the gear case cover to the dealer and they replaced it using the tool.
