Default 1982 75Hp Evinrude TRL starting issue

Good afternoon,
I just bought a McKee craft w/ a 1982 Evinrude for my two boys this Christmas. I am mechanically inclined, but don't have the detailed experience of a seasoned mechanic...so bottom line, I need some help figuring this out.

The motor will not start while cold without me spraying starter fluid while my son turns the key. Once it is started, it will run "ok". Over the past two days, it has developed a miss. The motor loves to run "full throttle" and will idle ok. If I let the motor sit for 20 minutes, it will not start again unless I use starter fluid. If I let it sit for 20 seconds, it will fire right up. This motor litterly drinks gas (it must think it costs 20 cents/gallon). Is it a timing issue? Does this sound like the typical carb problem for this motor?

Things I have done:
1) Removed the carbs, cleaned the jets w/ carb cleaner and high pressure air (110 psig)

2) Replaced all fuel hoses, verified fuel pump was working by starting w/out hoses attached to carbs.

3) Replaced spark plugs and properly gapped them (it fired right up after I did this, but once I ran the motor for a while, I had the same starting issue). When I pull the plugs out, they are not dry and seem almost wet. I did turn the motor over to make sure I saw spark from the plugs when they were pulled out.

I need as much help as you can give. I feel like there is some adjustment that I need to make, but I could be way off.

Verify that all the jets are the correct sizes. The air orifice is a #67, the fuel orifice is #59, the orifice in the bowl is #56D. Verify that all the carburetors are sync'd. You should also verifiy the choke is working properly.

I ordered all new jets (as specified above) and carb kit. I will let you know how this works out. Do you happen to have a picture of how all the linkage for the carbs/choke should be. There are some random springs for the choke linkage that I don't think is correct. Thanks.
