Default Early or Late model production

I have a 1990 Evinrude E225TXES SN. G2335758, is It an early or late production motor? I would need to know for correct parts order.

Default 1990 evinrude 200xp

I recently purchased a 1991 charger pro b*** boat as a fixer upper project for my son. It has a 1990 evinrude 200xp outboard motor on it. I installed a new water pump on it because I was told it had been grounded while running. After the repair, I ran the boat in my local canal and it would run good for a few minutes and then would only allow minimum throttle. I didn't know at the time that it was going into S.L.O.W mode. I guessed I was having a fuel issue. I brought the boat back home and found out about S.L.O.W. mode. I decided to pressure wash the entire boat (inside and out) to clean off some of the abuse of the previous owners. The next weekend I removed both thermostats and found more shells in them. I figured the shaft between the water pump and thermostats must be full of debris so I figured I would run the motor with the housings off for a little bit to flush out the remaining debris. The motor would crank over but wouldn't start. I tried to diagnose the problem but I still haven't solved it yet. I have a no spark condition, I believe. My service manual gives me different ohm readings for different parts for testing but my digital multimeters readings aren't even close. I believe I need to have the type of meter they list in the service manual. Is there a simple way to test to see if there is power going into the powerpack so I can eliminate it? Is it possible that the powerpack isn't getting power because I got water into someplace that I shouldn't have? As I said I pressured washed everything including the motor but only the external housing of the motor. I washed all of the controls for the motor(throttle, ignition switch, kill switch, everything thats housed in the throttle box). Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to just start thowing parts at the motor for no reason hoping that something fixes it. The kill switch and neutral safty switch ohm good. thanks again for any help.

If you have a spark board to test for spark, You can test for spark by disconnecting main harness from engine(one between key switch and engine) and use a remote start button connected to starter solenoid. Don't try to do this with plug wires connected to spark plugs, if engine starts you will not be able to shut off. If you get spark then you have a bad component in boat.

Default Wont start

I just bought a second hand 1997 Johnson outboard. I replaced the plugs, got a new fuel tank, got a new fuel primer and line, brand new battery. Now here's my issue...Does anyone know how a motor will act w/o the safety lanyard attached? Mine turns over but wont crank (just spins). I removed the breather guard from the carbs and while turning the key I manually (with a flat head screwdriver) pushed down the butterfly in the carbs. When I did this, she came alive but of course at a high RPM. Keep in mind, the lanyard is not attached. When I remove the screwdriver she kills instantly. Question: I thought the safety lanyard allowed spark to happen? Why will it run with the screwdriver? (there should still be no spark right?) Am I missing something here? Do they have different types of safety kill switches?

Default tune up

I have a 1972 Evinrude 25hp model #25253R. I have just replaced the points, plugs, condersers, and coils. I can not tell which connection the two wires that come from the bottom of the magneto plate and connect to the harness.

Does it matter which connection you plug it into? And if it does, how can you tell which one goes where????

Thanks for your time!!
