crankcase breather spare?

Hello, hope someone can help with this silly question,
I have a secondhand 90hp FICTH engine and under the flywheel forward and starboard there is a small crankcase breather with no pipe attached, it is breathing oil and fume. can anyone tell me where it is supposed to go to? and does the pipe have any item in it such as NRV or oil scavenger.?
