Exclamation 30hp evinrude
motor idles fine when i give it the gas wont run til put hand over carb.what could be problem

sounds like it could use a good old carb cleaning.

the engine is running lean (to much air)
intake gasket
crank seal
carb loose
any thing that will allow excess air in to the firing chamber
