130hp intermittent miss.

I have a 96 130 evinrude, it starts well but soon after it will miss, a sudden backfire out exhaust (one cyl i think). engine stumbles recovers, some times stalls and misses intermittently until under way. runs great underway. motor rebuilt in 03 I took it to the dealer to check timing and sync carbs. but still misses. compression, all close around 130 to 120psi. carbs cleaned new plugs.
any ideas .

Sounds like a lean running condition, plugged low speed jets or p***ages in carbs, air leak on intake manifold or carbs out of sync.
