  • Type 3 Carb question

I have a 1971 evinrude 9.5. It has a type III carb in it. My brother had someone service it and the guy wasn't able to get it started. He got it back put new plugs and such and got it running but with some issues. I am taking a look at it and found that although I can get it statrted and running gas pours out of the hole to the upper left of the idle (slow speed needle valve) from a tub on the top of the carb body that is shaped like the letter P is there supposed to be a plug in this hole or is it a symptom of some other problem? The linkage between the rich lean knob and the needle valve is missing. It is the cam type not the cable type. The end on the knob is still there but the one on the valve and the linkage is missing. I dont see either ***mbly on any exploded parts diagram. where do I find this /these parts to order.

Sounds like the carburetor is flooding over, you should remove, thoroughly clean and reinstall. Be sure to verify every air fuel p***age is clear from debri.
