OK so here it is. Bought an 85 Baja sport with an 86 xp200 on it two weeks ago.
first trip out I ran premium gas and 32:1 mix as suggested by previous owner.
vro was disconnected. It ran OK for a while just a little rough at idle but great higher rpmswent up on plane and was pretty fast but ofter a while somewhat bogged and wouldn't idle and died for a little bit then would start again after some time.

So yesterday I changed lower unit oil and pulled the prop and greased the spline and noticed the oil side if the vro was open and the electrical plug was still connected so I capped the oil line and disconnected the plug. Also put in regular gas and a 50:1 mix as I read that's what to use. Today I went out and It took a few tries to start. Ended up having to give it throttle while starting for it to catch. Then idle still was a little rough. Got out on the lake and it wouldn't get on plane. Granted it was pretty windy but it seemed to be very sluggy and simply wouldn't rev very hugh or go and faster. I decided to try with the wind to my back and it barley got up there and took forever. As soon as it got up the motor also revved up really high without acceleration had to back off the throttle and slowly increase it. Almost like breaking the tires loose on a car is how it seemed.

Going to take to a mechanic but would like to try and get some ideas it input prior.

    Thanks in advice.

Also I noticed fuel mix in the Carb cover when I took it off. Cleaned it all up and ran it and didn't see any leaks but was back again today.

Need to run a compression test to tell condition of engine, check for spark on all cylinders, probably will need to remove and clean carbs.
