  • Looking for feedback re: 1988 E30RCCE

Does anyone have info. or feedback about the performance, reliability or problems with 1988 Evinrude E30RCCE (30hp. 2 stroke)?

I have the opportunity to buy one in good condition, but would like to know if this year & model are good.

    Thanks!

They held up very well, still a lot of them in use.

      RE: 1988 Evinrude E30RCCE

Thank you very much for the response!
I'm excited to make my first boat purchase: 1987 14' Achilles inflatable...with 1988 Evinrude E30RCCE attached.
Going to put it to work fishing for nearshore halibut, lingcod, dungeness crab, etc.

I am a rookie and appreciate any/all tips, recommendations, etc.

      Thanks again.

        RE: 1988 Evinrude E30RCCE

After use in saltwater, how long should I flush fresh water through my 1988 Evinrude E30RCCE? 1 - 2 minutes ... 3 - 5 minutes??

Thanks to all for the help.

3-5 min should be sufficient. Be sure to rinse the engine compartment.

how to rinse the engine compartment

How do you recommend rinsing the engine compartment?

Do you spray water inside the engine compartment?
Seems dangerous with the electrical wiring...
I wipe it out after each use.

First yes, spray water to get off the heavy deposits. Then use some salt killing spray and follow the instructions. Electrical components are sealed and you will not be running motor when washing.
