  • 1968 5hp Angler questions

I'm starting a new post because my old one has the wrong title information.
    My apologies
I have this older 5hp angler
It has sat indoors for a couple of years
I hooked a hose and tank up to it and got it run after a bit
One thing I'm wondering about is where the water outlet is?
On my Seagulls and Yamaha 9.9 I use to own, you could see a visible stream of water coming out the back.
Do these Evinrudes circulate there water out with the exhaust or below the water line? because I can't see any potential water outlet.
The other concern is it seems to be seeping some blackish oil down the back of the leg from the base of the head.
Seagulls will do this and it's basically unburnt fuel.

I've done no maintenance on this motor yet
What would e some immediate thiongs I should give attention?

Those models blows the water out the exhaust port. Which is in the foot.

      Thanks
From another forum I learned I should check/ replace the impeller and coils.
Clean and regap the points and clean the carb
      Also check the hoses etc.

I thought I'd start it for kicks today
It would start , after a bit , but then quit
I discovered after a short while that I could keep it running by pumping the bulb on the fuel line
      hmmmm?

If you pump the bulb and it stays running, that is a fuel supply problem, most likely fuel pump.
