Hi I have a problem with my Ficht thats mounted to my 17ft outrage.The engine wont start directly after the check lights come on and the beep sounds this happened after 4 weeks of not boating due to bad weather. when i turn the ignition key to start my tach will dip and the checks begin. after the checks i cannot start i have to wait for 5-10 sec for my tach to dip again so i can start but the engine often does not fire up at all or when it does it suddenly quits as if there is no ignition just dead no hickups.

sometimes it starts and runs ok... The dealer said they cant read the computer. They cant get in. Last year when the motor went in for maintenance they had no problems reading it

I have had the dealer replace the ignition key ***y and the emergancy kill switch
this made no difference.
the dealer told me the engine had the typical ficht knock in it and the bearing needs to be replaced. Is this a typical problem the engine has 400 hrs? to me it sounds like any other ficht

the evinrude dealer wants eur 3000 to fix and eur 2000 to rewire it. thats Usd 7500. I dont have that kind of money. The dealer has an 2009 etec that they offered me for usd11000 "to save cost".....That engine has more hours than mine was very poorly maintained they told me and broke a bearing and has been rebuilt.. I feel like i am being robbed.
