  • Just one more thing...

Just finished rewiring my boat, I now have lights, horn, fish finder, how ever I cannot start the motor cuz I can't get any power to the remote. There is a fuse at the starter that keeps blowing when I try to start, I realize that I have a short somewhere, but for the life of me I can't find it.

I have to admit I am not the best when it comes to electrical in cars or boats, I had a diagram that looked pretty simple to me and pretty much did everything according to the diagram.

One thing that is confusing me a little though is where it shows power going to +12V from ignition switch, not sure how to get there to connect…help????

I also have no temp guage, and my volt meter is at the opposite end of this diagram, so I am supposing I will be going from the positive connection at the Volt meter to the ignition switch?????

The fuse only blows when you are trying to start? Remove the starter switch and trace the start wire. If the short is in the 12v out from the key switch the fuse would blow the moment you turn key on.

Sorry, doesn't help me...everything was working fine at the remote control, when I finished. there is power coming to the connector in the picture below, this connects to the cable going into the handle of the remote control, as you can see the wire colors are grn/wht, blu/wht, red/wht, there is power coming to this end of the connector, but when i plug them together there is nothing at the remote.

Those three wires are for your power trim switch. Where are the wires to your ignition switch.
