I'm trying to install a universal fuel level sending unit p/n 172114. Not sure of the instructions. Anyone know any thing about this unit?

Is it the one with the five retainer screws. If so, it only properly fits one way. Adjust the float to your tank. -

The problem is the float arm does not go with the resistor. The attach point on the resistor in plastic, the instructions states to crimp the float arm to the resistor. You can not crimp plastic. The instructions show a different resistor picture than what the unit came with,Comment
