Hi. I have a Sun Cruiser Pontoon with a 1994 Evinrude 30 horse E30ELERM motor serial number 003622412. I have had it for two seasons now and have had my share of problems with it. Had it in for some work late last summer including new water pump and a tune up. Worked fine the few times I used it afterward until the end of the season. This season I took it out for the first time about a week ago and it ran like a top. Today I had it out for the second time and it started great. Nice smooth idle, water stream out the side so I new the water pump was working. I backed it away from the dock and proceeded out onto the lake. About 500 yards out it started loosing RPMs and then stalled. I tried restarting but with no success. The fact that it lost RPMs over about a 20 second period tells me its not the ignition but a fuel problem such as fuel pump or maybe the fuel filter. Last year I installed a electric trolling motor as a back up but would sure like to have a gas motor that I can depend on. I told my wife, that next time it gives us grief, were getting a new motor but I hate to spend thousands when the problem may be a minor fix. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
