1972 evinrude 100hp electric shift not shifting

I recently bought a 1972 glastron aqua lift with a 1972 evinrude 100hp v4 on it for $150.00 engine was seized and carbs gummed up. We got the motor to turn and and fire by squirting fuel into the carbs. I pulled them and cleaned them and now it starts without Any help. My issue is the electric shift is in forward and will not go into neural or reverse. I can't run it cause the prop is throwing out all my water. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

See if have voltage at wires going to shift solenoids in gearcase. If have voltage going to solenoids when shift into neutral then solenoid is probably bad but they are no longer available and I'm not sure where you could find any.
