Difference between "snap-in" and "long-life" cables?

Difference between "snap-in" and "long-life" cables?

Hi all,

Last season the throttle wire (between the engine and the remote control) of my 1993 evinrude 9.9hp outboard engine (model E10RLETM) broke, so I have to get a new one.

When browsing the BRP parts catalog, I find two types of 5 feet cables:

OMC Snap-in Cables, part no 0173105
OMC Long Life Cables, part no 0377365

Now, what is the difference between these cables??? I hope anyone of you out there has an answer...

You would use the snap-in type, the long life are 1979 and older outboards.
