    What year is my 8Hp engine

    I have bought an older 8hp where the SN tag as come off. Does not appear to be stolen. Lower unit was dis***embled. The freeze plug is stamped with 1394361. I have pictures. Fuel oil ratio is 100/1.

    Unfortunately that number doesn't tell us anything. Is there a plate elsewhere, usually on one of the transom brackets? THat would have the model & serial number.

      The original on the transom has come off. I can see where it was attached. I think it is about 1987 model
