  • 1985 johnson 15hp carb rebuild

    hi all i have a 1985 15hp johnson that im rebuilding the carb for. i recieved the kit which had a white threaded plastic cone shaped sleeve ,nut ,bearing ,washer that i think goes with the low speed jet needle. could someone please explain the placement and install procedure for this " needle bearing" ? thanks

      thanks for the reply Joe . I posted this question after doing an extensive search on the johnson website. i got a lot of results but none of them addressed the white plastic cone shaped threaded bearing for the low speed needle jet . it came in the omc rebuild kit and im sure it is used somewhere. i posted here in the evinrude forum because i thought they were similar to the johnson and somebody over here might know. im sorry if i offended anyone thanks

          No problem on my part as I frequent both those sites daily. However, as in the other forum... it just dawned on me that you state that bushing/bearing is threaded?? I never saw one threaded! Can you insert a picture of it?

            sorry about the blurry pic the piece is so small and my cam doesnt do very good at close up the threads are in the inside. i think i see threads anyways . thanks again for ur help
