Hey everyone new guy here from TN. I don't have a boat yet but am considering a SeaArk after the first of the year. It is a 2072 vfx center console. The specs are 1250 lbs, 20' long, 94" beam, 28 gallon fuel tank and a 15* deadrise. It is aluminum.
I haven't decided on a motor yet. It's rated for up to 175hp but at 1250 lbs I don't think it'll need max power. Plus, money is a factor.
I'm currently considering a Suzuki DF140A, Mercury 150 four stroke or Evinrude Etec 135 HO in no certain order.
I realize this is an Evinrude forum and you might be a little biased but I would like your opinions on which motor would be best suited for this boat. I'd like a WOT speed in the mid-40s with good holeshot and good cruise efficiency.
Is the Etec as fuel efficient as the four strokes and what about oil usage? I know the 2 stroke oil can be kind of expensive.
