1988 88hp Evinrude Powerhead Gasket Leak

Hello,

I have a 1988 88Hp Evinrude outboard. It's leaking splooge at the gasket that connects the powerhead to the middle unit. I have the manual for the motor and I have worked on a lot of 2 stroke engines etc. My question is, how hard is it to remove the powerhead so I can replace the leaky gasket? Is this something a weekend mechanic could do?

Any tips y'all could offer would be great.

Replacing the powerhead gasket is not a major job, can be done in a weekend. Just a matter of unhooking everything and removing powerhead to adapter bolts, lift off.
