  • Spark Plugs for 150 Ficht

I have been using Champion xc12pepb plugs for my 03 150hp ficht, which are the recommended plug #'s by evinrude. I do a lot of trolling and they foul easily. OK, here is my question. I am switching to NGK PZFR6H, the cross-referrenced plug to champion . They offer a fine wire plug and a surface discharge plug.
Anyone have any input on usage of either?

    Thanks,
    Paul

      Mr Moderator,
Thank you for the reply, but I am already aware of what Evinrude recommends for a plug. In my effort to research sparkplugs I asked a few people I know in the carbuilding and racing industry. They all told me the same thing...champion plugs are not the best. Two of three pointed me in the direction of NGK (one to Bosch).
In 3 months' time I went through 3 sets of champion plugs. When I asked my mechanic about it he said that my engine did not like to be run at troll speed (7-9kts) for long periods, hence fouling the plugs.
I am asking this forum if anyone has (a)tried different plugs and (b)if so, used the fine wire type or the surface discharge type.
I look forward to hearing from you.
      Respectfully submitted, Paul
