1972 18 hp

Just joined today because I'm the happy owner of a very lightly used 1972 18 HP Evinrude. It runs like a top and, except for spark plugs, appears to be completely original. I'm not a mechanic, so need to find out about maintenance schedules, gas/oil mix (50:1?), etc. I'd also like to know what it's worth.

Change oil and grease yearly, replace water pump every two years.
Use 50:1 oil mix and resell value is up to you.

Routine maintenance. Thanks. I have no idea what value to place on this motor. Can't find anything to compare to in places like ooutboards for sale or Craigslist - any reasonable suggestions?

i just sold a johnson 20 hp. condition was in great shape.
new, coils, points, condensers, plugs, plug wires
rebuilt 25 hp carb, new needle bearing, new seals, new float
all new fuel hoses rebuilt fuel pump
lower unit got new seals, impeller, water tube seal (gears were in like new)
started second pull dead cold
i got 600.00 and about ten calls. this is out on the west coast, san francisco area.
