  • Pull starter locked up

We have a 98 yachttwin 9.9 two stroke with electric start. Tried to start it today and it spun up then just locked up. I thought I had a hydro lock so I took the plugs out. Not that. Solenoid would not engage. I wacked it and it fired right up. I wanted to make sure I could start the motor out on the water so I tried the pull starter. It's locked up tight. Won't budge. Motor will now start with the starter. What's up? Any thoughts?

Were you able to spin engine over by hand when you had plugs out? If so and engine is not froze up then need to lube electric starter bendix and bendix on recoil starter. Load test battery to make sure battery has enough current to crank engine over.

Thank you. It was the pull starter lock out out of adjustment.
