I have a 90HP 2001 Evinrude Ficht 2 stroke engine. It is not charging the battery. My question is how & where is the charging produced? Does it have a regulator/rectifier or does it come from the stator. Any help is appreciated.

It has a stator and a regulator, need to test battery cables and charging system. -
Where would the regulator be located? I can't find it. The battery cables are fine. I know it is in the charging system but I can't find exactly where the rectifier/regulator is.
