I have a 25hp evinrude that toasted on me last week. Long story short, the water byp*** plate screws broke off when I tried to remove them, I took the boat to a local dealer and he told me that it would not hurt anything if I ran the boat, just be carefull not to get any trash in it. Well, I found out the hard way that with the water byp*** plate "NOT" on the lower unit, that it will starve the water pump and burn your junk up! any Ideas on what I should do?
