  • Hello Evinrude, are you listening ?? Do you care ?

It appears to me that there may be a problem with the fuel pump 435352. I had a problem with a pump pre 2009 that had the check valves pop out of their housing and it happened again in a pump purchased in 2009. It seems mighty strange that two pumps that I purchased both popped the check valves when the 3 bought before didn’t. I could see one check valve to pop but two ??? I tried getting a check valve out on an old pump and it took me several minutes using an ice pick to remove the retainer plate off. What could cause this to happen on a pump that delivers less than 2 PSI ?? It is also strange that Evinrude has stopped making this pump without offering a replacement.
Surely Evinrude is aware of this problem, why are they silent?? I have written several forums about my problem and have not received an answer. It is my understanding that several different motors made by Evinrude & Johnson use this pump in 9.9 hp & 15 hp motors. I think the very least Evinrude could do is to offer a replacement part after making a s******* part.

Omc was bought out by another corp. And is still manufacturing motors, but this site/ forum is hosted by boats.net. I don't think they have responded to any requests since mud 2014, or earlier? I think the only responses you'll get here is from other outboard owners.

If you google OMC corp, you might find who the new owners are, and I think they have contact numbers for parts, maybe they can answer some of your questions? It's just a thought. I do know it's frustrating, but try their website.

    Good luck.

I sent an email to BRp the company that now owns Evinrude and they told me to get in contact with my local BRP dealer. My local dealer told me that the part would cost me $107 and later sent me an email telling me that I was correct in that they do not make the part any longer. The $107 price for the pump has to be several years ago because the latest price the pump was selling at was $170.

Only other option I can suggest, is google the part #, with item name and see what comes up? Can try just ” fuel pump”, then ”outboard motor fuel pump”, then ”evinrude outboard fuel pump”.

If nothing, then try ”mikuni fuel pumps”, or ”mikuni outboard motor fuel pumps” and see if they have a list for your motor.

        Good luck.
