  • power tilt and trim removal

    Hello,
I have a 97 Evinrude 225 and I am trying to remove the lower pin on the trim unit. I removed the top pin and now trying to remove the lower pin. I removed both "C" clips I have the engine on a engine stand and a engine hoist attached to power unit with a lift attachment. I applied heat with a propane torch and sprayed P blaster. No luck I used a small sledge hammer with a drive pin and it's not moving. I am able to move the unit about a inch or two, fore and aft. Any ideas out there? Any help appreciated

In this photo, it's the pin just to the right on the lower left engine mount bolt.
      Will get better picture

Well I got the lower pin loose from the trim unit that goes into the stern bracket, but I need to remove the stern bracket / tilt tube to remove the power tilt/ trim unit. The manual says a sliding hammer and tilt tube serving kit is needed. Anybody have any better way to remove the stern bracket.
