took pivot pin out by accindent ?? 1999 9.9 4 stroke

I accindently pull my pivot pin from my 1999 9.9 evinrude 4 stroke ,but I put it back in immedilately ,, does the lower unti need taken apart to make sure everything is correct in there ?? what all is involved in taken that apart ??

With the pivot pin back in, and with the engine in an upright position.... if the engine shifts into forward, neutral, reverse (back & forth) okay, well then, you are one of the lucky ones and are not to worry..... but do not do that ever again!

just had the bottom end apart ,was able to lay on its side and got it back in place , the water pump needed replaced anyhow so did that also , seems to shift fine now ,thank you
