I am brand new to the forum and I have had trouble trying to search for this topic. So, I am posting a question but also apologizing in advance if this has already been discussed.
I am replacing the powerhead and exhaust gasket on a 1982 Evinrude 50hp. I do have the shop manual and it says to use gasket adhesive on this model but not on newer models. I have read some comments on the internet that the newer replacement gaskets that have a shiny surface do not require an adhesive during installation. The gaskets that I have do appear shiny and they are sticky. I have the correct adhesive if it is needed. Should I use an adhesive or not?
Thank you very much for your help.
